The current batshit trajectory of the left and the wider establishment politics is just a more mask off version of the 2010s era policy. If the own the libs era didn’t happen the left would still be as bad as it is today they would just be less overtly hateful and hostile as they are now. The right was forced to undergo a still ongoing civil war that has proven they can be reformed into legitimate populous and nationalist platforms while forcing people to acknowledge the internal rot of the right.

I would argue it was a very important era even if it was simply a transitionary era and not a end point.
