Elon Musk and Peter Theil are not even 'tech bros' in the common use of the term anyway. They're oligarchs, magnates, executives, etc.
'Tech bro' is just a sour grapes term for losers and women who think tech is some modern version of the "good ole boys club". They feel left out, locked out, and they don't realize it's because they lack talent and skill. They didn't learn the tools of the trade that were obviously going to become the dominant money-making skillsets in their adulthood.
So now rather than admitting they're not as economically valuable as these 'bros', they create a terms to imply that it's some insular club that they're not allowed in to because they're not frat boys or some other similar jewish kind of scapegoat.
