That's the best part. Social Security doesn't even give them that much. Odds are the boomer is already in his paid off home, collecting a pension (potentially 2 if his wife worked), and has a life's worth of savings to help them get by.
It's not enough. They need that extra $1800/month so they can gamble it away or buy a new toy. The fund which pays for social security runs out in 2033. The government will just take more debt from federal reserve because our currency isn't real but retirement age will rise to try to cope with the fact social security was literally a plan created by greatest generation for the baby boomers which they failed to maintain and will let crash and burn after them. Its why I advocate for complete dissolvation of social security and give everyone every shekel back they paid in to invest.
