There is this stereotype on the internet that Japan is some sort of futuristic utopia, but that image is 30 years out of date.

In reality, Japan is becoming a third world country. It is poorer than Poland, Lithuania, and South Korea.

It is unironically over.

Being only slightly poorer than Poland shouldn't be considered something to be ashamed about, taking into account how much Poland's economy has progressed since they joined the EU. I sincerely feel glad for Poles and Lithuanians, and I genuinely wish Baltic people the best.

What does Japan even make these days? Toyota has car assembly plants in America and Mexico. Toshiba has battery-making plants in China. Hitachi and other Japanese electronics companies got outpaced by Chinese ones.
