The only good things I can see come out of this are to potentially split the republican ticket, and if Musk manages to push states into adopting ranked choice voting (since ranked choice voting is all but necessary for third parties to be relevant in elections, the lack of it is why we have been locked into a two party system).

Things have gotten the way that they are right now because too much money is allowed to just flood elections to buy politicians their seats and push anyone who is not bought and paid for off the board. We get to make our choice, but donors and special interests get to decide what our options to pick from are so the game is usually rigged from the start.

Ranked Choice Voting: Lets people vote based on policy and conscience rather than cynical zero-sum game theory
