But the MIC is an insufficient explanation for the current dynamics. Elites of all stripes are all working their own angles, and many are just as powerful as the old MIC, if not moreso.
And even if the MIC wants to send weapons to Ukraine so it can make money... the majority of Americans want that, too. There still exists pressure on politicians from the will of the people. A plurality of Americans think we're not doing enough to support Ukraine -- almost a majority. The second-strongest position, at 30%, wants to support Ukraine but thinks we're doing enough. The remainder disagree and think we should do less.
