Africa can deal a huge blow to europe by simply not exporting minerals. While the money value of these isnt great, their importance is in what they enable. Things like platinum enable the production of nitrates and hence all agriculture and manufacture of explosives.
Its similar for oil and gas, which are about 3% of global GDP but you take out that 3% and the other 97% goes away too.
