Here we have two main factions:
1 - The PCC (translated as First Capital command), this faction is from São Paulo (the financial capital of Brazil) and they're incredibly organized, they have lots of legit companies all over Brazil, the members needs to pay to stay in the faction (in 2011 I was told it was R$500/month), they financially help favelados to study to become lawyers so they can help the faction to release members from prision. They infiltrated the policy, military, public jobs, banks, food chain, software development, everything.
One day (00's, don't remember) they stopped the entire São Paulo city (think in a faction that is able to stop the entire NYC for example), zero stores opening, no buses, gas stations, schools closed, nothing worked that day, if they see someone in the streets, the people would be killed if there is no good reason to be outside.
I don't remember exactly why they did it, I guess they're demanding well treatment for prisioners, idk.
2 - The CV (translated as Red Command), this faction is carioca (which means from Rio de Janeiro) they're pure monkeys. The steriotype you guys see about monkeyzillians is all about Rio de Janeiro, they are the cream of the crop of monkey behaviour.
They kill, they torture, their favelas are uglier and they are basically monkeys, something near the Mexican cartels. The policy use military-level of armor/guns/stuff to deal with them, literal war tanks in the streets.
All brazilians dream with the day that the entire Rio de Janeiro state is destroyed, I hope it too.
Both factions are now fighting each other to control other parties of Brazil.
Both are raised and cared by all policital parties of this shit place.
