35 here, it's creeping in but most haven't admitted it yet. The recession was like a brick wall to most of my peers personal development. They're suspended forever at 18 years old in their mentality. Some are still trying to party it up and live like students, but they're tired, slowing down, forcing it, and it shows. The ones that went traveling talk about how "I'm tired of looking at airports". The ones who gamed a lot no longer show up on Steam. Those trivial things they made the meaning of their whole life seem to have run out of road.

I always wanted kids, had them young, and soon I'll be mortgage-free with adult kids in my 40s, and even in that time I've traveled, played and partied anyway. It's been a great life, but it's getting a little awkward now, hearing the increasingly muted "well I'm doing my bit for the climate not having kids" cope. They are realising it's a long life ahead and there's no medal for conforming to the "consume media and buy funko pops" eternal adolescence our entire generation seems to have committed to.
