Past a certain age, people are not able to think properly anymore, they just relying on past experience - as it may come out as them saying all the right things and even being charismatic and shit, it's a veneer. They're an empty shell. I hate to be exclusionary, and obviously there are lots of dumb young people, but it's just a fact of life.
