What are the chances that the US and its allies can hold out against an all out Chinese offensive in Taiwan?

Very low. What's the number at the other number ? Even with extreme asymmetrical warfare population will become the issue. I don't see strikes in China. I see them in the sea.

Near zero, but we can make it costly enough to not be worth taking. Imagine wanting it for its manufacturing hub or to make your country look strong and powerful only to fight a war that damages every building beyond repair and makes you look like a paper tiger while you struggle to overcome everything… and in the end your economy is hurt more from the sanctions than it is rewarded from the extra land…. Only worth taking if you have a deeply held ideological belief that is worth sacrificing lives and economies over.

Taiwan is completely btfo'd in any scenario that involves direct US intervention. Even if the US save the day against China the Island would be a smouldering ruin. There literally isn't a net positive win-con in that situation for the Taiwanese.

Taiwanese generals are dumb and spend all their money on warships and fighter jets, stuff that will get knocked out straight away by China's larger force. They should have spent it on drones, mobile SAMs, trained divers and other asymmetric tactics. They did buy some drones but they're also trying to get F35 IIRC.
IMO it won't matter because this will end with Chinese subversion of their government and a takeover like Hong Kong's.

They are actually high. The US doesn't have to get near China. They will send their fleet to choke points like the Malacca strait and do an embargo against China. China will have to come out and meet the US to break the blockade so that they can keep importing resources. This is the same playbook the US followed against Japan before WW2.

China beats the US in a conventional war on their turf. The scale of China is so huge. Including their ability to manufacture. The US is a gnat next to them.

US probably beats China in a nuke war or in the deep ocean.

You think China doesn’t have their existential crisis issues of when Russia and US and Japan and EU and Middle East and India all use nukes towards them? China is a communist Chinese country. They surely made the worst assumption in every case. They would literal destroy the whole world when a nuclear war happened. That’s why they are desperately developing hypersonic missiles.

The Republic of China (Taiwan) was formed from the Nationalists in China. They fought and died against the Japanese while the faggot commies hid in the mountains. Then, after the war, the faggot commies came down and attacked the severely depleted nationalists from behind.
From the very day of it's birth the (exiled) Republic of China has known the "People's" Republic of China intended to harm them. They have had 75+ years to fortify that island. There are bunkers, tunnels, and stashes of weaponry everywhere. EVERY SINGLE BEACH is set up to be a "Normandy Style" death trap (x1000). And it's practically an open secret that they have chemical, biological, and most probably, nuclear weapons as a last resort.

This is never going to happen, brainlets. Nobody with any power wants it to happen, in fact the only people who want it to happen are Chinese incels who don't actually want to do the fighting themselves. Unfortunately for their larping fantasies, the global supply chain is deliberately set up to prevent it and the Chinese leadership is not allowed to do it even if they wanted to (which they don't).
The direction of travel is obviously one world government with gradually more of everything openly subsumed by that. Best case scenario for Chinese incels is that China and Taiwan are ultimately part of the same economic zone in the new world order (they already sort of are in practice).

The Chinese won't attack Taiwan because they're highly dependent on trade with the US for their economic prosperity. Attacking Taiwan would be an enormous act of economic suicide and for zero benefit.
The US probably wants them to invade Taiwan and are baiting them in the same way that they baited the Russians but the Chinese are far more pragmatic.
