>>510102986 (OP)what is stopping you from making stuff liek at the top
Globally orchestrated demoralization of Western culture and society by anti-human Satanists.
>>510103066A lack of access to stone and marble slabs
This is just a symptom of late stage society. The healthier a civilization is the more complex its art can get. Troubled cultures produce crude simplistic art.
>>510103237make it out of wood or clay or whatever
>>510103300>Chop down trees>Get arrested >Dig up clay on land I don't own>Get arrested Can't have shit in Detroit
>>510103364Also stone and marble vs clay and wood are not comparable materials in sculpting, silly
>>510103271With judaism (and judaic calvinism) you have people, influential people saying an "iconoclast" is a good thing. Get that? People that smash art are the good guys and people that make good are are the bad guys. The Bible says smash art. Why? It's insane and evil. It's why we're forced to live in this sterile mechanistic environment. d
>>510103237dis nigga ain't got no rocks
>>510103300The real great works of our time are movies and video games. Shakespeare would be a Hollywood director or game studio head if he was alive today. Even there though the rot is everywhere. A lot of these companies are so incompetent that they can’t even correctly remake/remaster their old titles. It’s like a 6th century sculptor trying to copy some old Greek statue but he can’t figure it out because all the old teachers are dead.
The banana taped to a wall is just an egregious example of the worst of modern art. It's not representative of all art being produced these days.
However, yeah, the 'craft' component of art has been severely degraded as less precise and more free-form art has become accepted.
200 years ago, before cameras and video, realistic representation of the world was valued. Now it's not because it's easy to get a perfect photo. We still value the old paintings because they're A) marvels of human ability, and B) the only relics of what things looked like back then.
But a man who can paint as well as Michelangelo would basically just be a novelty in this era. His work would be judged on composition, creative flair, symbolic value, etc. His mastery of the paintbrush and mixing paints, anatomy, technique, etc, would be considered secondary to his 'artistic' je ne sais quoi. He'd have to have a persona to match. And that honestly now means being gay, being highly eccentric, or being a woman or minority.
If a White man did it, he'd be seen as a relic, dedicated to propping up an 'outdated' and 'colonial' set of artistic standards.

>>510102986 (OP)Previous European societies motive wasn’t creation solely for the sake of profit like today, art is dead because of capitalism, art like that requires too much skill, talent and time for a society that’s only aim is profit, culture is incompatible with capitalism

>>510103066Time, training, and money. All past examples of amazing art and all bad examples of contemporary art acts neglects to point out that its all funded by rich people. Even that banana taped to a wall was bought by someone. Crazily enough when rich people spend their money on shit like that rather than marble statues, the schools that exist solely to train people to make marble statues close and the amount of people who know how to do it go away
>>510103051Have you thought about the Roman Empire, today?
>>510102986 (OP)Aha. But there's more:
>>The sculpture is part of the so-called "Portal of Paradise" on the west façade of the cathedral. It was created between 1988 and 1997 by stonemason Simon Verity.
The depiction presents an apocalyptic vision of New York City, placing the fall of Babylon in a modern context.
Among the recognizable elements are the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, and the collapsing or sinking Twin Towers.

>>510102986 (OP)art for the sake of art isn't like art that we ever had for most of human history
art back then was made for rich people, churches, and governments
if you want art more similar to the above, look into the illustration world
basically what i'm saying is, yes da vinci would have drawn anime if he was an artist born today
