Finally computer science university realizes they shouldt be teaching this

https://www.geekwire.com/2025/coding-is-dead-uw-computer-science-program-rethinks-curriculum-for-the-ai-era/

The University of Washington's Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering is overhauling its approach to computer science education as AI reshapes the tech industry. Director Magdalena Bazinga has declared that "coding, or the translation of a precise design into software instructions, is dead" because AI can now handle that work. The Pacific Northwest's premier tech program now allows students to use GPT tools in assignments. The school is considering "coordinated changes to our curriculum" after encouraging professors to experiment with AI integration.

That's pretty big. "tech" had a good window for the middle class to aspire to for maybe 25 years and its over now. there will be fewer and fewer software jobs

It is clear that whatever you are doing if you are not at least somewhat proficient at using AI you will be at at least as much of a disadvantage as not knowing how to use a computer now.

They should focus on teaching the internals of computers, operating systems, and compilers/interpreters.

Thatโ€™s the kind of shit that separates the knowers and wizards from the normie vibe coders.

This is just a stupid admin roastie's take, the fact corpos and schools are jumping on this trend doesn't mean it will last when none of their repurposed business major tards can figure out why the stuff ChatGPT spits out is broken

This. And just like the Egyptians who "optimized" all their work with hieroglyphs, no one will know wtf we were even talking about before the fall, nor how to replicate it.

And Linux is being taken over by trannies. I think we will hit an idiocracy tier situation where people use old unmaintained software, and don't connect to the internet.

True. AI won't take your job. People who use AI more effectively will take your job.
