I have a japanese co-worker and she's white, maybe not pink-white or snow-white like Europeans, but she's a very light yellow color, certainly not dark enough to be considered brown, most people would consider that light yellow color to be white, considering plenty fo South Europeans have a similar skin color

No, It makes perfect sense why Asians are insecure about their mongolod features, the small eyes, the flat negro-like noses, and the flat faces give a very uncanny alien look, on top of making Asian males less masculine.
Indian males can at least give Asian women children than have rounder eyes, thinner noses, and more deep-set facial structure, so it makes sense why Indian males are somewhat succesful with Asian females.

Cultural halo is definitley a factor in influencing attractiveness, and you can even see this in the way people treat Jap/Korean girls VS Chinese girls.
