Until then drones won't provide any better anti-carrier capability than missiles did already.
And hypersonic missiles are cost prohibitive if the enemy possesses layered defenses, like all carrier strike groups do.
Drone swarms are either cost-prohibitive or too limited in range.
Simply put, carriers are drone HQ platforms with much greater range and strike capability than the shitty V2 wannabes Russia and Iran are producing.
As for why Russia is getting rid of its carrier, it's simple.
Putin has reduced the defense budget. Russia doesn't need an aging smokestack aircraft carrier.
It's only there for prestige, the only useful capability are the P-700 Granit launchers - but these are ageing and outclassed.
