I had a coworker when I was a tree climber claim he had external voices and I kept telling him those were just his own intrusive thoughts.

There is and never leads me astray.
When I feel bad it reminds me of things I should be happy about.
When I want to hurt myself it finds the words to stop me from even going on that road.

I call it a glyph. Like a glowing symbol you touch, except it's some neuron thing, and then its information comes out, or connects to whether relevant said glyph is connected to within the given context. Fairly straight forward, and complicated only because of the extreme interconnectedness. If the connections are well established it's a near instantaneous process.

I have 4 main voices and 3 occasional ones. The 4 main ones will debate most decisions as well as reflect on the outcomes of decisions. The 3 occasional ones usually come just before or after I don’t something stupid.

images, sounds, language is slow so the voice will speak a lot faster than i can. there's a kind of short-hand 'model' in terms of making a decision/thinking logically. sometimes colours are associated with things but i haven't cracked that one.

if you can do both you must realize when you're trying to solve an issue using a language search function it's usually a slower, way more linear and more methodical way of doing it, and in everyday's life that's usually overkill
personally the only time language kicks in is when I'm at the limit of my cognitive power

One of the things you'll have to cope with eventually, is that whatever this realm of existence is. You have freedom over your choices and that you will one day perish. You don't know if it'll be by your own body decaying and dying, or if it'll be by someone else doing it for you.. but that exact same freedom you possess over all the choices that you make are adding up to that eventual outcome
