The Mosaic Law was done away with when Jesus died. His death invalidated it.

Christians are not under the Mosaic Law because it was fulfilled by Christ death.

Here's a picture of all the covenants in the Bible. The rainbow covenant was unilateral. That means only God had to fulfill his end of the bargain. Mankind didn't have to do anything. The Mosaic Law was bilateral. Both had to keep their end of the bargain. However, mankind was unable to keep its end because of imperfection. So they were cursed for never fulfilling it.
