Why is it illegal to sell breast milk in stores in the US? Seems like there'd be more of a market for it and would actually lift up women from poverty that could use the money...

It would SERIOUSLY fuck up nestle's ability to sell high fructose corn syrup as baby food, insisting it is an appropriate source of carbohydrates for a baby.
Also, anecdotally, most of my friends and family members who have had kids lately have to use formula. They have these plastic machines that shoots the water at high temps through plastic hoses to mix the formula. Are women becoming less able to produce at time goes on? Maybe i just know a set of people that makes it seem more common than it is to me.

My wife developed serious UC during our third pregnancy and the medication she was on meant she couldn't produce milk. We spent over $8,000 in breast milk for the first 4 months until we switched to a formula that was goat milk based. No corn syrup. Still wish we could have afforded to buy it for a few more months but it was killing us.

no, they get c-section and the baby doesn't feed in the first couple of hours so the production doesn't get started off right
the first stuff that comes out is thick and brown and when the baby consumes that it prompts the breasts to produce
also, the lack of bonding immediately after birth due to c-section is extremely bad for the relationship between mother and baby
doctors aggressively push c-sections because it costs more and is convenient for them
