To go from reaching the moon to reaching the sun you just need a smidgen (2%) more energy because the gravity of that remain section is very small. It's smallness is so miniscule that it won't significantly slow down your rock even over that enormous distance it'll need to travel (400x more than the distance to the moon).

(But in reality hitting the sun is far far harder because you need to also nullify the velocity the rock inherits from the earth that is travelling very quickly around the solar system. If you want to hit the moon you don't need to change this velocity as much because the moon is travelling at a similar velocity to earth.)

Kinda this. Taking single pics of the moon at high magnification will usually look disappointing because of the atmospheric turbulance which distorts the light.
So to get around that, it's best to take a few minutes of video. Plop the video into sacking software which rejects the bad quality frames and stacks the good ones on top of eachother to sharpen/stabalise the image. I did pic related with a phone camera, small scope, and stacked the frames, which i've converted to jpg because of /pol/s filesize limit..

It's not 1 to 1 like the picture is presenting. The sun appears slightly larger than the moon appears at ground level, that's why you can see the edge around it. They're just pretty close.
