The reason MAGA is flailing right now is because Trump's domestic agenda got sucked back into the old unpopular 'normie' Republican Party platform. Trump was supposed to represent the future, and open up a new populist era in American politics.
Instead, he outsourced his budget to the GOP, and they spat back an out-of-touch Newt Gingrich-circa-1994-style plan that somehow manages to INCREASE the national debt while cutting popular programs like Medicaid. Trump's agenda is now represented by fag-faced Mike Johnson going on TV and yelling at white guys to work harder.
More than anything else, this is what sucked the life out of MAGA. MAGA is no longer future-oriented; it's just another placeholder in an era of American decline, choosing to reinforce the existing failing order rather than boldly creating its own.
MAGA is no longer a viable mechanism for reform, since it was successfully hijacked by the same cabal of GOP apparatchiks who have been in DC for the past several decades.
And disappointingly, Gen-X politicians are choosing to reinforce the Boomer economic order rather than charting their own course. They are taking tired old bootstraps rhetoric from the 1980's and presenting that as their 'plan.' It's lazy and unsustainable for many reasons.
