I think at one point this was the sales pitch for Christianity. Certainly CNN and the like have used impending doom as a way to fill their coffers. Most Christians do not read much of the bible and go to church to get the 411 of how to live instead of reading the exact Words of the God they supposedly worship. Anyhoo, people be lazy and people be born to be lazy. Even Jesus did not know the exact time of the end, and said so according to Matthew chapter 25 or somewhere around there. If they knew this, then they would actually solve and understand the trinity problem on their own. Most religious communities here are more occupied with keeping their own people in, than recruiting new people.
For example, they often live in the same villages and have their own Christian schools and such. If they are more radical then they close themselves off from the media. And usually go after any social activity in their town.
