He's not that bad. I just dont care for how often his guests seem to be this weird overlap of hippy woowoo mystic sorts and futrists transhumanist singularity bros being presented as being involved in science but really just spewing newagey bullshit with some sci-fi window dressing coming across one part a desperate appeal for venture capital investment into AI and tech and one part nascent scientology 2.0 further discrediting acedamia and making education look like a joke by their very existence and the fact they have postions and are given platforms. When he has decent guest the fact he's boring isn't a problem because interviews aren't supposed to be about the interviewer. His interviews are either garbage becuase the types of people he brings on, decent when the fact he's boring accidentally gives somone not sufficiently prepared TOO MUCH opportunity to talk and they exhaust their talking point and start slipping up accidently starting to approaching something like honesty just by allowing them to keep gabbing, and good when he actually has an interesting guest on by giving them a platform. Most days I'd still prefer him over someone like dudebro rogan and being a "personality" like some sort of repackaged shockjock radio putting on airs for new generation. A good interviewer is often soft spoken. He's not a good interviewer but in being boring he's accidentally closer to it than most.
