Air India Crash caused by pilot shutting off fuel supply
https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/11/india/air-india-crash-report-intl-latam?iid=cnn_buildContentRecirc_end_recirc

> The aircraft had reached an airspeed of 180 knots when both engines’ fuel cutoff switches were “transitioned from RUN to CUTOFF position one after another with a time gap of 01 sec,” according to the report.

“In the cockpit voice recording, one of the pilots is heard asking the other why did he cutoff. The other pilot responded that he did not do so,” the report reads.

Shortly after, the switches were reversed back to where they should have been, and the engines were in the process of powering back up when the crash happened.

why? and the blackbox shows the switch positions being set back to RUN, with the associated change in all readings as the engines tried to get going again. its a pretty high profile crash with no obvious reason for it to have been done deliberately.

The switches are impossible to flip accidentally, they are under tension and you have to pull them up and over a safety nub. This is just bafflingly retarded behaviour.

thats what they are saying. apparently both engine fuel cutoffs were flipped, the other pilot said 'why you are done the cutting off sar??', the guy says 'it was not me with the doing sar', then the switches were put back to the RUN position. sadly, getting the engines running again takes longer than the time required to crash into a hospital.

Who were the pilots?
Captain SumeetSabharwal, the 56-year-old pilot-in-command (PIC), had extensive experience with 15,638 total flying hours, including 8,596 hours on the Boeing 787, of which 8,260 hours were as PIC.

The co-pilot, or first officer, was CliveKunder. The 32-year-old had accumulated 3,403 flying hours, including 1,128 hours on the B787, all as co-pilot. His endorsements included C172 and PA-34 as PIC and A320 and B787 as co-pilot.

On the day of the accident, Kunder was the pilot flying the Dreamliner while Sabharwal acted as the pilot monitoring, responsible for supporting the flight through communication with air traffic control and system monitoring.

Besides the fact that this probably never happens the cutoff switches are like right next to the thrust levers where you're basically fist pumping them on takeoff. Why not put them somewhere further away from those hand movements. Also the switches should have like a 30 second off delay so they can be reverted if accidentally flipped. Another big brain move from Boeing. If it's the pilots fault then why not design a plane that doesn't have to be flown by 200 IQ mensa Aryans.

a 30 sec delay might not be so great in the even of an engine fire, but yeah, maybes its time to put them someplace else. i know they have tried to make the switches harder to flip by accident but it still doesn't seem like the best place to have them when they are basically like pushing the OFF button for the airplane. the engines take some time to fire back up after a hard shutdown so unless you're already at altitude theres no way to fix the mistake.

It's in their DNA

We have an external online training portal at work to upskill on various data platforms and tools, jeet universities/colleges also use it, you can see by the comments and submissions.

On many courses you got a license to another platform to do the dev and sumbit the public url with the output... some jeet literally submitted my one as their own - it even has your username in the url, they didn't care...

for us it doesn't really matter it's just a box ticking excercise to complete the module (you need to submit something and nobody checks it on the actual platform) but they actually use these their side for qualifications and coursework

hence the quality of work that country produces, they have no talent other than scamming or bumbling through things

still, guy had a lot of hours flying these things. if it was an actual mistake and not done deliberately as some kind of suicide or whatever, then yeah, just a really dumb error. but like you say , this kind of engine shutdown has never caused a crash before so far as i can tell from a quick look around. turning the wrong engine off in a fire situation, thats happened, but not this.

its in the CNN article anon. you are free to investigate the claim yourself.

Theres an article about something very similar to this accident happening to a Boeing 767 years ago. they had enough altitude to get the engines restarted in that caes

https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1987-07-05-mn-2339-story.html

>In the Los Angeles incident Tuesday, the Delta pilot, whom the airline declined to identify, told NTSB investigators that he had mistakenly cut off the jet’s engines when a warning light indicated that the plane’s right engine had a fuel flow problem.

He said he had intended to switch to manual control by hitting an electronic engine control button, but instead he pulled two fuel cutoff knobs on the console about two inches away.

The plane fell from 1,600 feet to about 600 feet above the Pacific before the engines were restarted, and Flight 810, with 194 passengers and a crew of eight aboard, continued to Cincinnati.

someone must know just from listening to the voice recording but i dont see it mentioned in news articles yet. seems both engines were shut down for 10 seconds before the switches were placed back in the run position.

im reading some pilot discussions about this and theres a lot of suggestions that it must have been deliberate.

My guess what happened is this.
>Jeet turns fuel on
>Error fuel is off due to malfunction
>Switch is still in the on position
>Why you doing turn off the fuel?
>I did not redeem
>They then restart it by pulling the switch off and on again

I remember flying lots of stuff but I would usually fuck up landings or crash trying to do maneuvers in planes that couldn't handle it once I got bored of flying in straight lines or pretending to hit buildings. I clearly remember refusing to give up flying the Cessna with floats until I pulled off a water landing at least once. I was also 5-6 years old at the time so yeah I probably was pretty retarded.
