Waste of time unless you're using it while making connections, even then it's dangerous because you could get too drunk and embarrass yourself and ruin your reputation
If youre drinking alone you might as well just hit yourself in the head with a hammer at least that way you aren't spending money
There's countless better ways to relax and spend your time then getting drunk or even a buzz, complete waste of time and energy

it has practical use as an antiseptic when high proof, and thus I actually carry a mini jack bottle or a flask of vodka for /out/ because it can double duty as your 2nd point, it can also be used as a flammable fuel and probably other things i didn't think of

otherwise, actual poison that should not be touched

Never understood how people can get addicted to alcohol. Whenever I get drunk and wake up feeling like shit the next day, I never feel like drinking for at least 4-5 days. I get drunk maybe 2-3 times a month. Have done that since I was 15 or so, and now I'm 40. I simply don't understand how it takes over lives. Guess I'm just wired differently then. Could never become addicted to it, but love getting shitfaced now and then.

French anons are both correct. It's okay to have a little drink every once in a while, but nothing beyond this is good for anyone involved. Alcohol's acceptance is part of what makes it so dangerous, and it will destroy anyone it gets its grip on, I've seen it first hand many many times.

love/hate, it's great as you're drinking, hangovers are Jewish in nature though, put you in a dark place for no reason other than just dehydration. Weed is better, recovery is shorter and more pleasant which is also it's only downside, the illusion you're ok but neglect it has it's own recovery time.

You don't get drunk at some point (well not in the normal sense, you just drink until you can't anymore, it's either empty or you pass out). It used to make me feel happy, it doesn't anymore, but when you're deep in that hole you basically feel nothing without it, and you don't feel the buzz (at least I haven't for more than a decade) anymore either, and yet you feel like shit without it.

Ruined my life (such as it was already), still have to drink it for feeling a tiny bit alive because it fried my brain (I'm not joking about the stroke, but it probably wasn't the alcohol alone, 60 to 80 cigarettes a day didn't help).

Your liver will give out eventually. I've known people who were like this. Binged every night for decades. They excelled at work, took care of their family, never got in legal trouble, but then things start happening they go to the doctor and it turns out they have full on cirrhosis and will die without a transplant. I knew two different older guys like this

Poisen, basically.
Love my beer, love(d) it a bit too much actually.
Lately I try to stay away from it, but sadly social interaction here basically only works with a beer or two. I try to avoid it outside of any social gatherings lately, got done more in 3 month than in the last 2 years in which I "Only had a few beers after work" (literally all day everyday). Sleep is better, more energy, more focus, overall feel better, lost a few pounds...

Sounds shitty. But also have to admit that drinking alcohol isn't as great as it was when I was younger. Same goes for everything, though. Weed feels like shit, so stopped smoking that. Drugs feel like shit, so stopped doing them too. I don't even like the taste of cigarettes anymore, and I only smoke 2-3 daily. Might as well quit them too. Maybe I just don't have that addiction gene in me. Hard to tell. But I'm happy that no substance controls my life and never has. Always done shit in moderation and always despised those of my friends who couldn't just do the same, but had to "get out there" to be satisfied - and yet never really were.

Just have 2-3 beers every night. Feels pretty good. The next day will also be good. Slowly increase to 3, 4, 5 beers a night. At some point you are at a comfortable 6-8 beers a night, every night and you will greatly miss it if you don't have it.

I don't do "drugs" at all though (obviously alcohol and nicotine are drugs, just legal ones), last time I smoked a joint must have been more than 15 years ago, I'll never touch shrooms ever, all the people I know who did had a pretty bad experience.

A certain level of drunkenness shows you who somebody really is on the inside. It's when they hit that point after their inhibitions disappear but before they can no longer walk. They will be completely honest about their thoughts and feelings, there. When someone says "I get angry when I drink," you want to watch out for them, because they're repressing that anger all the time. Same with any other dramatic change in disposition.

either you need to drink more expensive alcohol, or do NOT drink any beer (your digestion might not be up for it, stick to hard alcohol or wine... ideally wine diluted with water), or you are never drinking enough water to stay hydrated (nr.1 reason for hangovers) which means you should get your kidneys checked out

A small amount of alcohol isn't too bad, calms you down, make things more interesting, but when you become used to it and need more and more it's a disaster, and you sure as hell aren't calm and chill anymore.

Medically speaking, it harms the liver and the brain even in moderation.

Alcohol was used down here to control slaves and prevent them from revolting. No matter how badly they were abused, if they were given alcohol on the weekends they would return to the fields on Monday.

I can see how alcohol is used in the same way to control working people. As a Muslim, I genuinely do not feel the need to use any sort of intoxicant, drugs or alcohol.

Am up at 4am every morning to pray Fajr, and that keeps me going through a full day of prayer. I believe that preaching Islam will save people from drugs and alcohol and I do it for free out of love.

Puritan here. It should be banned among the English and from what I have seen the Irish too. So should gambling.

The purpose of law is to enable the strengths of a people while mitigating their weaknesses. 'Freedom' is not always a good thing, it is a largely nebulous abstract term. To a great many of my ethnic kin; there is no freedom in access to alcohol or drugs or gambling. Once they try it, they become addicted. Far from freeing them; it binds them. It takes over their lives, it shackles them, it makes them dependent and obsessed and in so doing removes genuine freedom from them.

Alcohol ruined the life of my wife's father. It ruined the life of my cousin. It ruined the life of my sister's husband's brother. It made my life much harder, thankfully I got free of it. It should be banned. I do not care if you like it on a hot afternoon, I do too, but it has ruined too many lives.

Well said. Its true for my people too. Without access to alcohol and drugs and gambling, we would restore a sense if dignity to our poor and desperate. Instead they live hollow lives where they chase highs or are always looking for the easy way out of whatever situation they are in. It never is a way out though; drugs, alcohol or gambling all just serve to further bury people until their lives are entirely destroyed.

We all like a drink. Some of us can partake in these pleasures without repercussion. But when we look at all the ruined lives... how can we support it? Ban these evils for the good of the whole. The Puritans were right. Whatever small pleasure these things might give us; it is nothing compared to the damage they wreak in the lives of so many. Ban it!

He's right about that point. Lecturing others is a dry drunk thing to do, I hadn't thought of it. Obviously this doesn't apply to all anon, or even most, but I bet it does to a few.

nah. alcohol prohibition should be a lot more strict than tobacco, in fact i would be in favor of raising the age requirement to 21. when you are younger, you are much more likely to succumb to peer pressure and throw moderation into the bin. at that point, alcohol will also serve as a gateway drug. keep off drinking for as long as physically possible, thank me later

This is the problem. It seems like the easy way out. Feel lonely? Feel stressed? Feel sad? Drink!

After a few years of doing this you will no longer be in a position to make friends, or at least it will be much harder. If, when that loneliness first struck; there had been no alcohol (or drugs) available, you would have found another way to salve your pain. In all likelihood you would have found friends, found a community; and rather than sliding ever further into misery, you would have been building yourself up and going forward to a brighter future.

Alcohol was the trap. It was never the easy way out. It was bait, a beautiful temporary fix that had a trap door beneath it. You are now in a far worse position than when you first started drinking. There is still hope, and I want the best for you brother; but you must go out and become a part of a community.

For the sake of people like you; I would ban these evils. Alcohol, drugs and gambling. The Puritans were right!

No. Change your lifestyle (physical activity, going out, finding hobbies, healthy food etc) and attend therapy if needed instead of that. Those pills are pretty useless imo.
Only amitriptyline and duloxetine are useful and that's for chronic and/or severe pain, usually caused by something concrete.
I get why doctors prescribe them, you get rid of the patient who would otherwise annoy you with his non-problems forever, but it's better to try and convince them that their problem won't go away with pills and they should work on themselves instead. Easier said than done, especially with how lazy people are nowadays, hence why medfags prescribe antidepressants all the time.

They are not. Panic attacks, baseline anxiety gone. I was in the ER several times because I thought my heart or nervous system is totally fucked up prior to taking them.

I take them and now I feel calmer physically despite extreme depression. Obviously I still have tons of mental issues that won't be resolved by a pill. But at least SSRI keep body functions normal when otherwise I would be spending time at ER now.

That's because your metabolism is still in good shape and you're probably young, and you drink "responsible" amounts of alcohol, alcohol is anxyolitic because it depresses the nervous system (to a point...) and does calm you, but the more you drink, the less calm you are, alcohol will turn you in a complete violent retard at some point (depends on the individual obviously, some people don't reach that phase, it's exceedingly rare in my experience).

Drink small amounts if you need too friend, but don't get used to it, and you probably never were completely drunk if you think alcohol doesn't turn you in a violent retard, good for you.

He was right, but judging by the state of our people today we need to ban it. If people only used force when necessary, we would not need laws for assault or murder. The laws must suit the people.

In England, alcohol is destroying us. There are many other issues too, but this one is huge. My people are suffering and there are all these apathetic retards saying how they can handle it without getting addicted, or selfish ambitionless retards saying how they would kill themselves otherwise. No! I want more for my people. They deserve better. Alcohol is robbing them of their dignity, and while it would be nice if they could resist by willpower alone; many cannot. So we must help them! Is this not the whole point of law?!

Why is every American either a complete teetotaler or a degenerate alcoholic? Why can't they drink with moderation?

I rarely, if ever, drink during the weekdays but I can have a beer or a glass of wine with food and then do a bit more in weekends, going to a pub with some friends, a concert or just a dinner party but I can also go 2-4 weeks without drinking at all.

Americans however seemingly have no impulse control when it comes to alcohol and it's either on or off with them which makes listening to American podcasts about alcohol extremely difficult because they will always compare these two extremes when it comes to health. One example of this is like Joe Rogan and Huberman who will just go on and on about "alcohol is le bad 4u" but they're speaking about it from an American perspective where apparently alcohol is something you drink ever single day and they will be so fucking proud about being sober for x amounts of days/months/weeks and how many "health benefits" they're getting. Fucking mutts.

Degenerate poison that was created to chemically lobotomies.
Jews monetised its sale and consumption promoting it to children as a right of passage and something that is manly.
When in reality, alcohol reduces your IQ, created a financial dependency and alters your metabolism causing a plethora of health related issues, dementia, obesity and and man boobs.

What exactly is manly about man boobs and obesity?

Moreover, look what the fat drunkard Churchill did to Europe... That is what happens when you have a drunk in power, they think Jews are the good guys.

I've heard pubs were shutting down all over the UK in recent years, and I assumed the North was most affected by alcoholism (coincidentally the very northern part of France and Brittany are the most alcoholic parts of of our nation, what's left of it anyway).

His insights are also way above that of any Uni lecturer I had but he is a phd with decades of experience. His books were ok, his live shows lame. The crying th8ng was used to make fun of him, but the perfect psych should be sensitive enough, but also strong enough of a personality. He had the perfect combo but I think all the heat that came with fame is beyond most people so he got addicted to painkillers. Yes he is a meme now, like trump really, even has his own university lol. It all a race to squeeze every ounce of fame from his brand. Just like trump. Sometimes I wonder if different demons are assigned to each of us. For some it is a spirit whispering to them of alcohol, reminding them of the warm and happy place of escapism, where consequences do not seem to matter, where all anxiety is gone.

For others it is about sex. About depravity. About humiliation. About revenge and anger and a warped sense of justice brought about by inflicting suffering on others. Different demons with different interests trying to torment us. Perhaps tailored to each of us.

In the name of Christ, cast them out!

I'm a bit of a lightweight. I like 1 beer every 3-4 days. That's about it. Just to quiet down the demons in my head even only for 20 minutes. With a slice of pizza, and a slice of peace.

For a while I was drinking 2 beers per night, to get a bit of buzz going. But I feel just terrible afterwards, headache and tired. Alcohol doesn't sit well with me. So I dialed back to 1 can beer.

Fascinating subject really. We're all tested by different things I believe that to be true. Never met a man who had every problem.. Always one or the other. If he drank and smoked I bet one he could give up far easier than the other.

I don't think it's just whispering devils though. In Islam there is 'waswas' - the whispering, but also 'nafs' - the self/ego (essentially your innate desire or inclination to evil). I think our vices are hard burned into us.. and the devil tempts us to step further and further down that path.

Christian btw but don't bar my door to Islam. If you're a man of faith you should be open too - It reveals much about all this sort of stuff.

I'm incapable of just drinking once in a while. When i had alcohol at home, I would start drinking a couple hours after waking up if I didn't have work that day, and as soon as I got home from work on a work day. Once I start drinking, I drink til it's all gone or til I get too tired and fall asleep.

Firstly; it is ridiculous to argue that no high IQ man has been stricken by alcoholism, or otherwise disadvantaged by alcoholic fathers, brothers, or even by a drunk driver who kills them before they could reach their potential.

Secondly, while I do agree that we must not cater only to the lowest common denominator; who does alcohol actually help? What great scientist made his discovery while drunk? Which writer wrote their magnum opus while inebriated? Which musician composed their masterpiece while under the influence?

I do not wish to mitigate greatness for the sake of those with low potential; but I am not doing that. Alcohol is a poison which disadvantages everyone it touches. Your argument is flawed.

But you might extend that argument to decriminalize cocaine as gentleman's snuff, or heroin or psychedelics .. which may be abled to be enjoyed sensibly by the top 5% of people.. but at the expense of devastating the bottom 20%. Law just finds the balance somewhere.

Perhaps that is an issue. I see a lot of overweight people and I know it makes people's lives harder, but from my admittedly quite ignorant position, it doesn't seem to be destroying many people.

In contrast, I have 3 people in my extended family alone whose lives have been completely ruined by alcohol. My wife's father, my cousin and my sister's husband's brother. The sad thing is all of them had a lot of potential. My cousin was borderline genius level before he started drinking; now he's a fat middle aged man who can barely hold down a job. My sister's husband's brother seems like a really nice guy, but he's never been able to hold a job down for more than a week and he's in his 40s. He still fantasises about the girl in his class he had a crush on when he was 14. His life has been put on hold because of alcohol from his teenage years and now he's approaching old age, and what does he have to show for it? A destroyed liver, he can't feel his legs, and he is suicidal.

It's heart wrenching. And these are just people in my extended family. I used to drink heavily at university, just about all the pub regulars from back then are now dead.

Alcohol is destroying our people. I do not mean to downplay any other huge problems afflicting us as well; but I can attest to the fact that alcohol is a scourge upon my people. I would see it banned.

I understand why alcoholics enjoy it so much, having a nice, cheerful buzz going is a top feel. If the hangovers didn't feel so awful maybe I'd be an alco too, but writing off a perfectly good day just to lie around feeling like shit is a strong disincentive.
It's sad when you see someone who has to have it just to feel normal though, really doesn't seem like a good way to live.

But the 40% shit is for.. yeah if you want change you day really fast. Worst case it becomes a daily thing. Hopefully as we grow, we learn. It's a depressant and a drug that distorts your mind and can cause significant ling-term damage to your body over time. In a perfect world there would be no alcohol and nobody would have a reason to drink, but if you're gonna drink alone or socially it's best to do it in moderations.

I'm sure someone is going to call alcohol a Jewish scheme and someone else is gonna say it's a white man's beverage. Both are retarded.

This might come across as very unempathetic.. but I remind myself with stories like this, and I'm subject to the same... A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Your cousin might have been a genius but a genius who can't stay away from an obvious harm is a non-runner. It's like a speed boat with a hole in it. Not seaworthy. We're created men and a man must be 10 tenths a man or isn't. If you're missing a major part of something I just don't know how right it is to blame outside forces for your failure. Oh he had other problems that led him down there. I mean academically the guy was doing incredibly well and ranking high in national tests.

But his mum (my aunt) left his dad. Met a new man. This new man then was like a father to him, genuinely seemed to be trying hard too. Then he started beating my aunt (by all accounts she was very aggressive too, but still... you don't strangle women). My cousin tried to intervene, ending up going after him with a cricket bat. The step dad then called the police on him. They got divorced. Step dad wanted nothing to do with him. He reached out to his real dad and only to find he had lung cancer and died within the year. Cousin now with criminal record and all that madness turns to alcohol. And that was the real nail in the coffin; he just keeps digging that hole deeper and deeper. He had a lot of crap put on him but there was a way back. Instead he drank. And drank. And the years passed with no progress, and each year people were less sympathetic; and now he's middle aged and suicidal. Poor bastard.

We all hit problems in life, some much worse than others. Alcohol is not something to turn to though. Those who do find it near impossible to come back, and if they finally do; they are often riddled with health problems.

We were sitting with the research team leader in medical research of our university (a very high position on the academic ladder), and he mentioned this as an example of how bad research can spiral out of control.

He mentioned the following:
>people in france had better health despite fats (french paradox)
>interpret that as red wine effect with no evidence at all
>early studies were observational, meaning they showed correlations, not causation
>studies often found that moderate drinkers lived longer
>ignored many important factors
>โ€œAbstainer biasโ€: Many non-drinkers include former heavy drinkers or people with health problems
>Lifestyle differences: Moderate drinkers were often wealthier, more educated, and healthier in general (cultural societal thing--> better health care education less stress better food better environment better family morals regarding this better image to uphol
>alcohol industry funded research and public messagin
>More recent and rigorous studies (including meta-analyses and Mendelian randomization studies) have shown: There is no safe level of alcohol consumption for overall health. Even low amounts are associated with increased risks of cancer, heart disease, liver damage, and other health problems.

As someone who is studying medicine and is also Muslim but living in a Western country, I don't have the guts and privilege to express this feeling, as everyone would think, "Ugh, not the Muslim again," which is why I am starting to feel like a traitor to the noble profession of medicine.

We, of all people, should try to protect the weak among us. The ones who might have grown in difficult environments or had a series of unfortunate events that led them to this drug. But no, we do not acknowledge our faults as human beings and that our body and spirit can be abused by such substances.

Ever hear of a little thing called genetics? I've been drinking pretty consistently for 40 years, stopped binge drinking a few years ago, but I hadn't noticed any bad health effects except the hang over lasting longer which is fair, almost 50 and still give the 25 year old fitness kids a run for their money in physical work and endurance.
Take an NAC if I know I'm going to have more than a few.
It's obvious human beings are varied, I just didn't think so many pussies lived here.
This place really has become brown.

>NEVER mix alcohol with sugary drinks.
you can't really compare millennial and zoomers chugging vodka-redbull with some nice cocktail fashionable since the 1920s consumed at the theater intermission

Also this.
I see kids drinking 3-4 'energy drinks' every day at work and know that shit is twice as bad as alcohol and tobacco.
The white race is doomed.

>when you get your religion from glowwies on pol

If God is real then the Bible is His holy word. You have to accept that, and that God doesn't have 4/5ths of the world - the better portion of mankind who would turn from the world to follow Him, who (speaking of the Muslims) get up at dawn every single day to pray - believing in complete tripe.

Of course the religions of the earth are His institutions. If you are French and a European, then the Church is your calling.

And narcissism isn't a personality either. The most evel cunts I've ever met have been tetotalling psychopaths. They can't handle alcohol because it reminds them of how they're absolutely useless inhuman garbage when they have a couple and act like complete retards.
Alcohol is for the gentle soul in a heartless world full of zombies.

You need way less of it than you think you need. It will hurt you way less than you'd been led to believe. But, that said, if it actually hurts you and others around you, there's a lesson on if you should stop or not, that only works if you find the answer yourself.

Havana Club is owned by the Cuban government, Pernod Ricard and the Barcardi, good rum but quite expensive,

Pernod Ricard is on the stock exchange unfortunately Barcadi is private and owned by the Barcadi family, I'm sure they're rotten like all wealthy fucks, and they still publish ESG reports while being private (why, they don't need investments by shareholders, I'm missing something here clearly, just appeasing the Jews ?) but at least they never did an IPO on their company and let the Jews own major shares to push ESG/DIE bullshit, but they're not completely immune to the LGBT agenda, but as far as I know they keep it down to a minimum, but after all it's a family that is super rich by selling people poison
