The blood brain barrier can be disrupted due to inflammation; and the virus possesses a mechanism that allows it to hide in immune cells that cross the barrier; or it can transport to, and directly infect the endothelial cells lining the brain's blood vessels.

Nature truly is mysterious in her cruelty, you die if you stay inside, you die if you go outside, why even bother? Why play against a rigged game? When does humanity extinct itself just out of sheer disgust for this game?

I think only yuros have the encephalitis ticks, and not the entirety of Europe. I don't think there are encephalitis ticks in North America, but we got a fuckton more Lyme I believe. But I recently learned Europe has Lyme too. Rule of thumb seems to be - the more western (European or North American), the less ticks fuck your shit up in general. But that's just a rule of thumb, always gotta watch out.

ticks will hand out by a door frame.
To control ticks, control the rodent population.
Voles are big time tick magnets.
They leave paths in the grass, so they are easy to spot.
Simply put a metal rat trap with pressure plate trigger in the path, and cover it with a plastic tote propped up by a small rock. the voles are so stupid that they will run right into the trap and die. I've caught over 100 voles this way, and my tick problem has vanished.

How do I get over my fear of ticks bros? I love being in nature but the simple existence of these woodniggers make me anxious everytime I pass through a patch of tall grass of a bush.
The thought of catching one in my hair, not spotting it and developping lyme which would ruin my life is nigthmare fuel

Borrelia doesn’t cause encephalitis. It can, in rare cases, cause a mild form of meningitis.

If you take a blood sample of the whole population in a rural area, and screen for antibodies against borrelia, roughly 10 % will have antibodies, suggesting a past infection with borrelia.

This tells us that the likelyhood of catcing lyme is fairly small even in wooden areas, and infections are handled by the immune system.

Being bitten by a tick doesn’t mean you will get infected, and being infected doesn’t mean you will be seriously ill, especially if you get antibiotics.

it would suffocate instantly since they breathe through their "skin" instead of lungs and thus cannot maintain large bodies due to the inverse relation between surface area and volume.

There's always a risk when getting out there, you just need to understand nature and reduce the risks.

I always wear long pants, and carry a roll of duct tape with me, and a long sleeve shirt just in case I find myself in some tall grass. Even then I'm still paranoid and check myself every five minutes.

heart lyme disease survivor here, one year ago i had weird infection, one month later i couldn't run because my heart rate couldn't keep up, i got heart block 2nd degree, i had some tests and everything was good, it was just heart blocks, cardiologists couldn't figure out what is going on, finally one of them suggested me to test for lyme and yeah it seems it was it. Took antibiotics for one month, didn't helped then they switched it to another antibiotic and its gone for now. I believe this shit somehow damaged my heart because i had 203 max heart rate, now its just at 185.

Arachnid but not a spider. They are called camel spiders, wind scorpions, or apparently these days also sun spiders, but they're are properly know as Solifugaes. They live in arid desert climates in much of the world but are one of the few nightmare creatures that can't be found in australia, probably becuase there just scary looking and not actually dangerous enough for australia. Like 15-20 years ago there used to occasionally be some tall tale horror stories and forced perspective pictures of them making them look way bigger then they are that would crop up and get circulated online and in viral emails time to time from soldiers in the middle east where they'd occasionally crawl into peoples boots encountering the creepy bastards for the first time. They're in america too but only in the south west.
