Only water at the base, don't get the fruit or buds or leaves wet. I know they'll get rained on, but do whatever you can to keep them dry when you water. Also make sure you trim branches and suckers that are impeding air flow in and around the center.

the harvest is going to be destroyed
you need to get rid of spores in the soil, solarize maybe, look into that
you have a blight problem though and it will take some work to get rid of

Had that last year.
Did you use that terrible fucking Mircale Gro Organic soil? Everything I planted in it failed, tomatoes all rotted out. I was finding LEGOs, metal and glass chunks in that soil, so there may be a connection since I see that trash everywhere I go that has gardening supplies.

see this is why /out/ isnt even worth using. unless you want to participate in their permaculture aquaponics circle jerk they dont respond, plus i used fertilizer and that is a huge no no in permaculture.

As in, added it to the soil? Not familiar with that term.
I mean literal, 9X% sulfur dusting on the fruit, on the rest of the plant as well. It helps prevent a variety of parasites that attack plants.

dont use fucking miracle gro
if you have access to horse shit, use that and just leave it alone
if you feel the urge to use fertilizer, use 10-10-10
dont fuck around with manmade fertilizers
all you need to do is treat the soil and let the plant grow

Calcium?
But it's not clear...it could also be a fungal infection. What do the leaves look like?

Pick them when fully green and getting a little whitish. Some tomatos just ripen better after picked. Also one tiny animal bite will instantly rot the whole thing.

Was working at a major airport building runways. The topsoil almost always test positive for petroleum contamination from the 50+ years of jet exhaust. It smells like shit too - and not topsoil shit smell, I mean a weird almost rotten cabbage smell. Some of that is teh de-icer they use on the planes.

I warn contractor of it, hauls it off anyways. Ends up at a place that makes and sells screened topsoil to anyone. That shit is probably spread out over the entire tri-county by now.

man made fertilizers are perfectly fine, an element is a element. the only problems actual scientists have with miricle grow is 1) waaaaaahhhh the nitrogen is made out of evil petroleum, waaaaaàhhhhhhh
2)over application

>gave them calcium and magnesium
If it was calcium, then you need to give it time. It won't help the damaged fruit but new fruit shouldn't show signs of rot (assuming that is what it is). That's an issue with soil compared to hydroponics, the time factor. Hydro shows changes more quickly.

last winter i spent hundreds of hours digging up decomposing forest top soil and putting it in my garden area. i really thought it was decomposed so i rototilled it in. well it wasnt and sucked all the nitrogen out of my soil. once i corrected the nutrient deficiency it started doing better. the tomato i really do think is from too much water, it has rained alot and we get short afternoon showers every single day this year. picking them a couple days early seemed to help, hopefully it stops raining soon
