This is due to sprawl. The world isn't just getting hotter, it's ALSO getting colder. When you kill all the plants that moderate local climate that's what happens. Days and summers are hotter, nights and winters are colder. Where I'm from when we were kids we used to pray for a white christmas because we'd typically get slush and it took like 3 snows for the ground to freeze, now winter has taken over half the year and the ground freezes in October with the first snowfall, often before.
