China is putting more into renewables than anyone else. They know the pollution is bad but it's a consequence of rapid industrialization to try and compete with the west. Do you know how insanely polluted european countries were at the beginning of industrialization? The pollution will be tapered off.
Yes millions will suffer effects from it, but there isn't some magical option where China can industrialize in remotely the way it has while not polluting.
You can very easily look at statistical trends and how they're developing now. The pollution won't be an issue forever.
Meanwhile some insane amount of americans have old pipes leaving pollutants in tap water with absolutely 0 intention for us to do a fucking thing about it because socialism or some shit.
