Whats even worse, is if they went to the SE or midwest, they could live in an actual decent 1-2bed apartment driving uber or whatever else they do. These people just bought into a fantasy that America and places like NYC are “land of opportunity”. Sad thing is Chicago could easily be the best place to live. Mild climate most of the year/winters aren't that bad because of L Michigan. unlimited freshwater, great lake access. Mississippi River access/..rail/airports/etc..
