25, employed with a university level job and living with my parents.

It's not worth it paying 1200-1500 a month in rent and necessities for the privilege to live in a 3-4 room cell. I will maybe move out if/when I get a gf and we can share the rent, but for now there is absolutely 0 reason for me to do so. I can afford it, but it's a horrendous waste of money.

34 and just moved back in with my folks I have a lot of reasons why tho. Old man has kidney cancer so spending time with him, mom is a pot head who doesn’t do anything so I cook dinner and clean for them, lost my job, fiance dumped me (I actually deserved that so can’t hate on her) and I recently inherited a large amount of money from my grandfather so don’t want to blow it on rent. The boomer mentality of just "work infinitely forever and you WILL get rewarded for it" doesn't work and it hasn't worked for many years, I'd argue as far back as the 90's that shit was already long gone.
