From my understanding, it's at the level of the EU forcing phone manufacturers to let you replace your phone's battery again. There's zero downsides whatsoever, and it solves a modern problem that previously didn't exist by simply allowing the consumer to regain agency over their purchased products. They made CNC4 so shitty that you have to deal with broken older games and fuck with the settings, or buy the ""new and remastered "" editions with minor graphics upgrades and no hardware upgrades to compensate for larger computers and abilities to do more.
