A carrier isn't going to help you with that. It's meant for oceanic operations. The worst place where you could place it would be the Aegean, within range even from artillery. I think Turkey wants it to LARP as a protector to third - world countries in Africa.

erdogan is trying to create a new ottoman empire. turkey is already involved in wars in countries like libya and sudan, so being able to back their forces and allied militia's up with air power is the next logical step.

its pretty goofy though. turkey would be better off long term if they focused on space, even if only from a military perspective. just look at how massively successful starlink has been. it's singlehandedly hard carrying ukraine. its also instrumental in protecting countries from long range missile attacks and can give you the intel needed to carry out and monitor covert operations far away from the homeland. that doesnt include all the economic benefits and great power status that it gives you.
