I traveled Europe with my girlfriend (Moroccan) a few years ago and the reactions we got from Norwegians were totally different. For example, when I tried to get seated at a restaurant near our hotel, they told me that they were full. When my girlfriend asked, they brought her back to a table. Often times Norwegians would pretend to not speak english when I would try talking to them. Everywhere I went I would be glared at. You can maybe chalk it up to her being a woman, but I've heard similar stories from other black people who went to Norway. Totally different experience in Sweden.

Maybe they discriminated you because you're from US. When I went to Bergen last year I saw plenty of black people living their live to the fullest. There even was one WWBM couple

I grew up in America and I came here and my family literally told me at the dinner table to «stay away from the niggers» after I told them I was moving to Oslo. They also inspected my eyes and were disappointed with them being brown from my mom who is like a quarter sami and american.

Anyways, it was genuinely shocking to me but very good advice. I have a good family.
