It's pretty much about how modern conservatives are the antithesis to everything Superman stands for.

Superman stops a war between a western-backed nation and a poorer neighboring nation, kicking off an international incident. He's arrested without trial and sent to a secret prison full of political prisoners. He breaks out and discovers that the war is a front to seize land and start a new country lead by Lex Luthor. He saves the day in the end.

It's pretty much a democratic progressive wetdream.
