Forcoing the enemy to use fly by wire drones would already be a big plus. Also that much fiber optic cable would get real expensive real quick which would make drone warfare a lot more expensive.
There are ways around it; but its still a solid deterrent against the current systems and would render drones built to counter it more expensive and less effective. At that point you might as well be going back to long range missiles.
