the fed has to keep interest rates a certain level to avoid but the government isn't able to afford those rates on its debt. Trump wants them to lower the rates to about fiscal government fiscal problems while also appearing to stimulate the economy since lowering rates would result in inflation which makes corporate revenue and stocks go up.
