The US started the Real ID Act in 2005.
It was introduced by the US' military industrial complex as a way to "keep track of dangerous people" but really it was to set up the framework for a digital ID that would allow monitoring the positions of anyone.
In 2005 the US lacked the infrastructure to make this even remotely plausible.
During the Obama years, he successfully lobbied the EU/UK into joining on this operation.
During Trump 1, Trump was against it because China has the same thing.
During Trump 2, Trump is 100% for it because Palantir is paying him.

So in other words, the world super powers say for security reasons they want to know anything and everything anyone is doing for "safety" and to "protection the nation" which is antichrist shit.
Meanwhile the corporations are hoping to have all of your data for marketing/sales purposes.
