We can better separate sex from love because we have a lot less to lose from the sexual encounter because we don't get pregnant. Women can't, they need to bond with the man they have sex with so that they and their offspring survive, but when they get pumped and dumped so many times, the bonding mechanism stops because experience taught them they can't rely on a man sticking around, so sex becomes strictly for pleasure or barter for resources.
