plumbing will probably not be a thing in 20 years either. I interned at a company that automated house creation. Every part of the house was modular so if you have serious plumbing issues they would just replace that part of the house if it was a big enough issue if it was small enough they would just send a minimum wage Mexican.

Go be a firefighter or have a job that comes with perks. Trades are great but if you get checkmated out and can't work for yourself, your fucked and if people can hold a paycheck over you and fuck you, it takes years to get back to the original starting point.
Also if you don't have reliable transportation don't even bother as 95% of people won't hire you, then your stuck at a laborer with no room for advancement or even learning how to operate a machine, and you will always be the hard worker.
Also moving forward you will need tickets for everything and certs so if you don't have an employer who provides those things, leave.
The new OHSA legislation about needing portable shitters and job shacks just forces all smaller/medium companies out so all the work is in the hands of the larger ones and they sub out work to guys. And with TFW page suppression and employers getting a rebate on labor it's cheaper to hire 3 jeets and have one skilled employee be a Jeet wrangler until he quits than it is to employ three Canadians and a Foreman and have minimal issues versus "floor joist Saar?" When someone falls to their death cause things are jeeted.

Biggest reason for leaving the trades is cause I don't want to get maimed and redeemed or bear the burden of responsibility for other people's mistakes, also maintenance carpenter on the Rez is a good job if your always the problem solver who's expected to do it with minimal resources, the wrong tools and constantly being used to being told you don't need X.
