It is relevant. The warrant was for Breonna's other BF who was a drug dealer. She'd been in an "on again off again" relationship for four years prior with him and Wikipedia claims the relationship had coincidentally ended the month before the shooting. He apparently decided in his head that's not illegal (and it's probably what he told her), but in reality aiding and abetting crimes that way is in fact illegal. You hold cash or product from drug deals, you are part of a drug dealing operation, even if it's "just" holding. One would hope an EMT would be smarter than that but apparently not here.

The cops didn't fire first either. The other "good" BF fired a "warning shot" when he heard the door kicked down. Sgt. John Mattingly: And so the guy went back in the apartment. We focused back on the door, continued knocking. About six cadences total of knock and announce. On the one right before the last one, the breacher nobles said, hold on, I think I heard something inside. So I stopped listening for a second, didn't hear anything. Yelled again, police. Search warrant. Didn't hear anything. Knocked one more time, yelled, police, search warrant. Looked back at my lieutenant, and he gave the nod to go ahead. And at this time, we've been at the door at least a minute, probably 45 seconds, but probably about a minute.

Sgt. John Mattingly: He's. He's at that little insert, that little in cut that goes to both bedroom doors. As soon as I see the gun, I think, oh, crap. I mean, it was so quick. As soon as I saw the gun, the flash, the bang, the smack in the leg, I felt it. I returned four shots. It felt like it was simultaneous. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. But evidently, there was enough of a gap in there for him to dive out of the way in this doorway.

So after I got shot, I felt my leg. And as soon as I put my hand out of my leg, my palm was just soaked, and I thought, oh, man, this hit my femoral artery. So I yelled that out, man. I've been hitting my femoral.

I think the other piece of it, honestly, is that she was sleeping in her own home. And despite the spin that the police tried to do after they murdered her, despite the fact that they just dropped charges against her boyfriend, who defended both her and himself, I think there's, you know, something there also about the fact that she was not an aggressor, and, in fact, she was asleep.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - Jamarcus Glover, the man at the center of the drug investigation that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor, was arrested in a narcotics sting early Saturday morning, authorities said.

Glover is facing multiple drug-related charges including engaging in organized crime, unlawful transaction with a minor with illegal controlled substances and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

According to an arrest report, Glover and two others are accused of trafficking narcotics at a Louisville home. Glover allegedly engaged juveniles under 18 years old to transport and sell heroin, fentanyl and other illegal drugs.

A search warrant was issued Saturday at the home, and officials seized a number of narcotics and several firearms.

St. Matthews Police led the investigation, while the Louisville Metro Police Department assisted in executing the search warrant, the LMPD said.

It was March 2020 when one of Glover’s Louisville homes was the subject of a narcotics investigation.

Taylor’s apartment was raided at the same time, resulting in her death.

Police returned fire after they accused Kenneth Walker of firing a single shot that hit LMPD Sergeant Jonathan Mattingly. Walker’s charges were later dropped.

Glover was most recently arrested by the Jeffersontown Police Department in January 2022.

He pleaded guilty to drug charges including cocaine trafficking on Nov. 30, 2020, in order to avoid an eight-year prison sentence.

He was sentenced to five years of probation, which he requested be served in his home state of Mississippi, claiming that it would be easier to find work there. At the time, his attorney advocated for the move to help Louisville heal following Taylor’s death.

You don't need to have a criminal record for the police to search your home. Breonna Taylor's ex-boyfriend was a known drug dealer who was seen picking up packages from her apartment and driving to a drug house, Taylor was also seen in surveillance with her ex-boyfriend driving to drug houses in her car. The police had probable cause to search her home because her ex-boyfriend listed her apartment as his address a month before the raid. There's plenty of reasons for the police to suspect that either Breonna Taylor or her apartment was involved with her ex-boyfriend's drug trafficking based on surveillance, recorded jail conversations of her and her ex-boyfriend discussing drug houses, her posting bail in amounts of $5000 to her ex and his drug dealer associate, and the fact that a dead body was found in her car after she let her drug dealer boyfriend borrow it.

The fact is that Breonna Taylor has been on the police radar in their drug trafficking investigation for months because of suspicious activity which finally led to police to get a warrant signed off by a judge to search her apartment which led to her shooting death after Kenneth Walker fired a gun at the police. The police also found evidence that Walker was also involved with illegal drug dealing and a possible robbery from texts from his cell phone when they investigated him for attempted murder and it's possible he might be facing charges after the FBI is done with their investigation.
