Russia has many pros and cons, its a land of the extreme, really (dont move there, you will only get the cons anyway).
On the one hand you might have insane social trust, to the level where you dont have to lock the door of your house.
On the other there is a russian joke that goes:

Then you have St. Petersburg + Moscow (basically what a european city is supposed to be) and then the rest with bad roads etc.

There is also a LOT of poverty in many regions. Drunktards and other "filth" is more wide spread. Also its an overall unstable country.

I can tell you for sure that Russia has much better cities in ALL aspects of life.
But I cannot tell you how it is in the country side in Russia. It's probably a shithole whereas country side of the USA can be either comfy, or trailerpark level. I'd take rural America anytime though. But living in the city, I would take Russia 100%

I visited St.P and Moscow last year.

On the bus from Tallinn to St.P I sat beside a young Serbian woman. She wasn't beautiful but I liked her. We talked throughout the 8h car drive + waiting time at the border crossing.
