Robinhood Co. says their software is now 100% written by AI

https://www.businessinsider.com/robinhood-ceo-majority-new-code-ai-generated-engineer-adoption-2025-7

Robinhood CEO Vlad Tepes has said that the majority of his company's new code is written by AI, with "close to 100%" of engineers using AI code editors.

Eventhough they still have software engineers, the engineers are completely reliant on AI software.

Speaking on the 20VC podcast, Tepes estimated around 50% of new code at the trading platform is AI-generated.

Tepes said the 50% figure is imprecise due to advanced "agentic" code editors that have made it difficult to distinguish human-written from AI-generated code.

So in truth its close to 100%.

The company has progressed from GitHub Copilot to Cursor and now Windsurf, where "nearly all of the code is written by AI," he said. Tepes estimated only a "minority" of new code at Robinhood is written by humans.

This. Also, if someone has coding skills, they can write a list of potential mistakes already prior to asking, so the fallback is already implemented.

Claude AI is actually very good at making numerous different fallback methods for something very simple... I was making a program that gets Windows file paths and it created various fallbacks to accurately get all possible paths without erroring and crashing

As a rule of thumb, if you find """AI""" code boosting your productivity, you are a jeet-tier coder and not an actual programmer. There was actually a recent study testing the impact of """AI tools""" on programmer productivity with experienced devs and found that the ones who thought """AI""" makes them 20% faster were actually 20% slower than the non-AI users. That's for pro-tier devs. Make that 2000% slower with CRUD monkeys and other kinds of API plumbers.

Only an absolute retard would think this. AI written code has massive bugs in it that wouldn't even realize were there without experience, hallucinated method calls. We are objectively in a moron bubble right now. Too many charlatans and grifters are making too much money off AI to reveal the truth.

There's always a wizard with minimal coding/steps, then the minority of skilled coders with experience and legit expertise, and then there's the overwhelming majority which includes people like me who never learned how to code.
Zoomers are expecting AI to be like that wizard but I get the feeling it's closer to the wasteful blob.

Why would I want to hire someone who adds no productivity (I can query an LLM more efficiently than them because I know how to describe the fundamentals and advanced details of what I want, plus I know how to review what comes back)?
