But: In europe the government will force you to have health insurance. They will also intervene in health in many other ways. Ironically the government in europe will also not just force you to have health insurance, they will force you to pay a share of your income. Despite there being statistical evidence for higher income, education and standard of living being associated with less health expenses. Our government mandated that emergency departments treat and stabilize anyone regardless of insurance or ability to pay. But they didn't provide funding.
