Yes, in every campaign there are the kool aid drinkers, who will support him right or wrong, even in opposition to their own common sense; but there are also a lot more people who supported trump based on specific policies; and whose support is dependent on his living up to those promises.
For example, the libertarian wing of the party voted for him based on his promise to cut costs and lower the debt. So if he raises the debt, he should not expect any more help from the libertarians going forward.
same sort of thing here. Most people with common sense are simply waiting to see the evidence before making a decision about whether it's real or fake
