Bumblebees don't make meaningful surpluses of honey and their colonies are pretty small. Also, while they are very chill in general they will absolutely kill you for fucking with the nest and can sting repeatedly unlike honeybees.

bumblebees are super chill and cute. Used to have a shed that they loved to chill in and build nests in, but that shed had to go. So they migrated to a part of my house behind a wooden panel. They arent hurting anybody and i got loads of bumblebees around my house now. They're apparantly in decline so im glad they are thriving here

honestly I wish ppl treated spooders like they treat bees, spooders are also cute but everyones scared of them because of where their fangs are located. As long as its not a goddamn wandering spooder (kinda dangerous) ur usually 100% ok. Most spooders dont even have enough penetrative power to break human skin (tarantulas can and wandering bois can) but tarantulas are well known pets.

Like everyone sees an orb weaver and is terrified but they're the most docile species out of every species. Im not kidding. As long as you dont squish them and just let them walk naturally on ur hand, they will NEVER bite and they're very pretty to hold. Also they're SUPER good with pictures and they look extra glowy if you get good angles.

As long as its not a goddamn wandering spooder (kinda dangerous) ur usually 100% ok. Most spooders dont even have enough penetrative power to break human skin (tarantulas can and wandering bois can) but tarantulas are well known pets.

I have a story that just happened that I think was an omen of some sort.

there was a giant wasp in my garage next to some drawers. huge all black wasp. they're not that common here. I'll see them a few times a year. i considered trying to smush it against the drawers but it was really aggressive. it looked like it was ready for the swing. so i left it alone.

the next day i noticed a little nest in the drawer handle. smaller than a golfball. i kicked it off the drawer and it crumbled and all the little larvae fell out and i smushed them.

surprising things happened because I avoided the unpredictable confrontation but the wasp still got BTFO really bad.

Neet with a vegetable garden here. I love bees but my parents have begun hiring a company to spray broad spectrum pesticides all over the garden to "control mosquitos". They refuse to believe that it kills bees, since the company says it doesn't (pyrethrins kill bees and cause CCD). Now the only insects in our garden are mosquitoes (since randomly spraying pesticides everywhere doesn't do anything about mosquitoes). After the company left yesterday I found dozens of dead native squash bees, dead inside of the squash flowers. On top of various other bees and beneficial insects littering the yard. Why are boomers like this bros. I'm thinking of just ripping out the whole garden since I'm just attracting beneficial insects to their death.

Uh, yeah so, definitely if one is in your room, and you see and chase them, they'll know ur chasing them, and once you catch them using any makeshift crap, they'll always go to the safest spot in whatever crap you used to catch them. Ever notice that? Spiders always go to the most difficult to squish spot.

If you just put a drop of water in there with a tiny bit of tuna juice or pork juice or anything that has protein, they'll eat it for sure and then fuck off right back to their safe spot

lol im not kidding and ive done this so many times, even with risky spiders that actually can penetrate human skin (bigger then average) if you give them enough time and then slowly tilt whatever you captured them with onto your hand, they WILL walk on ur hand and wont bite.

If they fall off do not try to fucking catch them, just let them go, they will find a way out. They always do. If you see them again - this might sound insane - but they will recognize you, and as long as its not a WS you should be ok, and yes, even fucking wolf spiders or black widows will recognize you.

most people are so much more afraid of spiders than they need to be, theres literally only 2 species of spiders on earth that can actually kill you, most spiders on this planet can only make you feel like shit, and that includes even if ur already sick, feel like shit, have the flu, going thru withdrawls, just fucking anything, like 97% of spiders no matter how creepy they look cant actually fuck you up

There are 2 types that definitely can though so....lol

Trantula hawk

btw do you know how much of their lifeforce they expend to sting valid targets? essentially they have what you know as firepower meters, like in a video game. You probably know it as a cum meter but unlike you, with them - its their literal lifeforce. With you? You just use baby wipes and ur all good.

If you know what a "dry bite" is or a "dry sting" is - that would be easier to explain but I guarantee you already know lol.

Theres a reason I hate anything without legs like snakes, or too many legs, like centipedes or waterbugs because they can just refill their shit with essentially no cost if they eat, meanwhile buzzy bois, and like 95% of spooders have to bite/sting you at their own detriment.

Youve probably been bitten or stung before and didnt even know it because it was a dry sting / bite. The only time youll know for sure is with honey bees. They always will BEE THEMSELVES and leave proof lmfao

Btw dont just walk up to a fucking solitary wasp and try to pick it up because of this thread....

If you put your hand next to it and DONT MOVE IT and it crawls onto your hand, fine, but its the same with buzzy bois as it is with spooders. Let THEM make the first move.

Dont ever
1.) Try to fuck with giant hornets - you will get sting
2.) Try to fuck with wandering spiders - you will get bit.

Other than those two, you should be ok with anything solitary and not near a nest or that feels comfortable next to you. Just be polite and dont make any fast movemnts and u should be able to enjoy their company!

I had a cellar spider female living under a cabinet which I used to store all crap I never use, like old PC parts and soldering irons, she's been there for almost a year. I fed her silverfishes which I would sometimes find in the bathroom and give her water. A few days ago I came to check on her and saw she was being eaten by another, slightly larger female.
