They are trapping the population inside and sending them on suicide missions, massive amounts of equipment are being thrown haphazardly in poorly planned assaults that assure certain death and more expensive weapons contracts.

I cant read the russian orders but I have seen the Ukrainian ones and they have wiped at least three battalions on three separate occasions for no reason at all.
They weren't holding vital infrastructure or enabling another unit to retreat.
zelensky just ordered them to stay in their encircled positions for weeks until they were wiped even explicitly demanding they not retreat and also not sending supplies.
