I don't understand it. AI chatbots in no way sound sophisticated or nuanced enough to be mistaken for anything but a computer like a glorified Alexa. Nevermind the fact it's heavily censored.

What people like you completely don't get is that this tech is moving forward daily and at an exponential rate.
This is not like the tech advancement of the past where things advanced in years/decades so people could work it into the culture naturally and gradually with generational changes and so on.
Nope, this is happening right now and in real time and too fast for people even to keep up.
So by the time you formulate your "AI sucks" take, shit already moved past any points you were trying to make.

And I'm saying this as someone that doesn't like AI to begin with. It's just really REALLY scary how fast it's moving.
