Yes that's true, and nurses were specifically told not to aspirate (due to pain/processing speed apparently) so it could certainly happen, but that's beside the fact that LNP encapsulated mRNA can easily enter the bloodstream no matter where it's injected. Public health attempted to blame nurses making sloppy injections for the cardiac issues, but they ignored that LNPs can travel everywhere in the body including through the blood brain barrier.

Before 2020, mRNA was injected mostly in neoplastic cells. A lot of labs resigned even from injecting it into animal models out of "humanitarian reasons" because of observed delayed side effects. Labs came back to using animal models in mRNA research as of lately, only to check potential damage that could be done to people in result of 2020/2022.
