>>510822817I honestly would fire as well someone who made my company lose 16 million dollars for a joke, political opinion or anything else.
You wanna be political about anything? Wanna joke about? Wanna do whatever you want? You can but don't get my company involved in it. Besides that i'm certain that the Trump lawsuit wasn't about Colbert but Colbert certainly had this part in it by criticizing not the president, but Trump in general, people usually forget that Donald Trump isn't just the president but also a successful businiess man and companies are business while late night hosts are simply employee.
Put yourself in the position of a company what would be the best way to deal with something like it: keep pushing personal feelings against a man using your company as a tool while losing money and relevance or simply firing someone and keeping the doors open with a business man that can help your company in the future?
Truth is that the world is made of open and closed doors, you gotta pick which doors you wanna keep open and which doors you will close, appearently people forgot how the world works lately and believes that every person is entitled to opinions but not the social and legal consequences of it, to put in perspective, even if you hate your job and boss you wouldn't get inside his office and call him an asshole unless you're expecting to be fired, isn't?
