Many Sega games from the ’90s included environmental themes, often woven into their stories and gameplay without being preachy—more like fun ways to show respect for nature or warn about pollution. Here are a few good examples:

Sonic the Hedgehog series — The classic enemy, Dr. Robotnik (Eggman), often pollutes and destroys natural habitats, and Sonic fights to protect the environment and free animals trapped by machines.

Ecco the Dolphin (1992) — A really unique game where you play as a dolphin navigating underwater, dealing with ocean pollution, mysterious ecological disasters, and protecting sea life. It’s basically an environmental adventure with a sci-fi twist.

What I don't understand is that Cranky Kong was the one who was the original Donkey Kong, and Pauline was an adult. Pauline was then absent from any game until Game Boy Donkey Kong, until Mario Vs Donkey Kong 2 on the DS.

HOWEVER, Diddy and Dixie only became a couple between Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2, which takes place long after the first arcade game and Game Boy Donkey Kong because Cranky Kong is elderly.

Don't spoil Bananza for me as I just started it, but it would complicate the timeline even more if Wrinkly were to appear, seeing how she was alive in Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3, and died and became a ghost in 64 beyond (and due to ghosts in the extended Mario Universe including in the Donkey Kong games being tangible and not really different than being alive, makes her death negligible, especially since she is playable in the spinoff titles), and not to mention an entire world in 2 being full of ghosts as it's gimmick and setting.

Then again, here I am, arguing about continuity in a video game series that has a gorilla causing trouble for a plumber, goes to war against crocodile pirates to take back his food (and have his buddies being saved from being kidnapped, on top of magic birds and fairies made of bananas), sentient tiki masks being made from bananas, and viking walruses and penguins freezing the island due to magic somehow.

And it was all accidental, since Rare designed the Kremlings for a different, science-fiction game that was canceled (may or may not have been a Battletoads game). They stuck it into Donkey Kong Country, as Nintendo wanted Rare to use a new cast of characters to create a new seeies, instead of having the plot be Donkey Kong rescuing Mario after he was frozen by Wario. And Diddy Kong came into being all because their design for Donkey Kong Jr. looked drastically different to the point where he just simply became a second character (at Nintendo's insistence). On top of that, Donkey Kong got his redesign for Donkey Kong Country, all because Rare stuck a Battletoad head to his body.

The Kremlings stuck as well for Donkey Kong, since it was widely established by corny-low budget movies that King Kong fought and battled against Godzilla (for some reason), hence gorillas and crocodiles are somehow bitter enemies (although to be fair, King Kong did kill and hunted dinosaurs on his own island). And Donkey Kong was a parody of King Kong (although started life as a Popeye game where Jumpman (Mario) was Popeye, Donkey Kong was Bluto, and Paulene was Olive-Oyl, but Nintendo didn't secure the rights until the following year where they made a different game based off of Popeye).

We got the best version of Gangplank Galleon out of it. Satisfied until I can pirate and emulate.

its basically 10 other different games all rolled into one with a little bit of donkey kong theme layered on top. i know this because we spent $80 on it and my son just beat it. its banjo kazooie, zelda, mario sunshine, this and that and something new entirely. all i know is.. its not the platformer that you knew. but its not terrible. but yeah theres this lil bitch he follows around and lets ride around on his back. and she happens to look similar to that one jewish army psyop meme cunt who is really hot with the blue eyes and spots on her face. it seems like they watched recent Godzilla and King Kong movies about going to the center of the earth, added her into the mix. and then added all these classic games from N64 and gamecube, wii, switch etc.

all i know is this seems like more of the same from nintendo. they have the model and system worked out well. both hardware and software are developed and released in certain intervals and increments. slight increases here and there.. slight changes.. just enough but not too much. it keeps people coming back. its consistent yet still new enough.
